Notice: Saturday 29th November and 20th December closure.

Would all West Hill Karate Kyokushinkai Club members please take note that the dojo will be closed on Saturday 29th November to all juniors, as many of the clubs instructors and students will be at the National Clicker Tournament at the Rivermead Leisure Centre in Reading to support all our fighters. For those getting the mini bus up to Reading, please be aware that we will be leaving at 7:30am from the West Hill Dojo.

There will also be no training for juniors on Saturday 20th December, as we will be holding a Club Grading at the West Hill Dojo, starting at 9:30am. All students planning to grade will be required to bring their licence and £14.50. If there are any questions or queries, do not hesitate to contact Senpai Leeann, the Club Secretary.

Congratulations Matt and Sempai Pete!

Congratulations are in order for both West Hill Karate Kyokushinkai Club members Matt Owen and Senpai Pete. Matt fought valiantly in the Belgium Open Knockdown Tournament where he took a well deserved first place, defeating three opponents and drawing another from France, Holland and of course, Belgium. Great work Matt!

The West Hill Club would also like to give a big congratulations to Senpai Pete, who took his Shodan grading on Sunday where he did a fantastic job despite having to grade with no one else in front of both Hanshi and Shihan Keaveney. Thank you to everyone at the club who pushed and encouraged him over the last few months, and a massive well done to Senpai for this great achievement.

The West Hill Kyokushinkai Karate Club will be holding a club competition and demonstration, with food, drinks and a raffle on December 1st between 7:00pm and 9:30pm. Would all club members also please be aware that the club will be closed on Saturday 27th and Monday 29th December for Christmas and the new year. Other important dates for the club are listed below, including the next Junior Squad session and the National Clicker Tournament in Reading.

The West Hill Kyokushinkai Karate Club would like to give a big congratulations to all the red and white belts who passed their grading with Shihan David Pickthall on the 26th September.

Everyone worked extremely hard and and did a fantastic job representing the club as they attained their new grades and belts.

George represented the West Hill Kyokushinkai Karate Club spectacularly at the 32nd British Open Knockdown tournament at the K2 in Crawley. In his first fight he sent his opponent off in a stretcher, before loosing to a close judges decision in his second, placing third in his category. A huge congratulations to George and a massive thank you to all those from the club who turned out to support him on the day.

West Hill's Matt Owen was also at hand at the 32nd British Open to not only help demonstrate the basic rules of knockdown, but to also put on a bit of a show for the crowd.
