Training Sessions

In general, to achieve and maintain an acceptable fitnes level, you should excercise at least 3 times a week. This does not mean, (although it can), 3 karate sessions. There must be a minimum of 1 karate session per week. However, 2 karate sessions a week is considered a basic for the serious student, and over a period of time, should bring the required results to the average person. Other sessions, if not karate, should be general fitness work, i.e. running, cycling, swimming, gym session, bag work or similar.

To achieve results with flexibility, the average person should complete a stretching session on an almost daily basis. This should, however, be gentle and cause no trauma whatsoever. Light and often is the key to stretching as opposed to a karate session which can impact quite serverely on the body and subsequently may need a recovery period.
